How
should I prepare for my design center appointment? |

| A: |
To
best prepare for your appointment, think about
your lifestyle: |
|
| |
- Do
you have any children or are you planning
to have children?
- Do
you have any pets?
- Do
you entertain? If so, what rooms will
you use most frequently?
- Do
you want a formal or casual look?
- Do
you have a budget?

|
|
How
soon do I have to make my selections after
signing the sales contract? |

|
Why
should I browse before my appointment at the
Design Center? |
|
| A: |
Your
scheduled appointment will be smoother if
you take time to browse the ASTORIA
DESIGN CENTER.
Browsing will give you a better feel regarding
the products you will be selecting with your
Designer. Browsing will give you the opportunity
to preview the different finishes, colors
and textures that will make your home unique.
You do not need to make an appointment for
browsing. |
|
|
Why
do I need upgraded cabinets? |
|
| A: |
Upgraded
cabinets are installed with roll-out shelves,
which significantly expand the storage capacity
of your kitchen cabinets. Also you’ll
get a tilt-out tray in the sink base cabinet,
where you can store sponges and other small
items. If
you
decide to replace your cabinets later –
you’ll have to replace both countertop
and flooring, and sometimes appliances.

|
|
What
should I bring with me for my design center
appointment? |
|
| A: |
Feel
free to bring fabric swatches from your
existing furniture. Any photographs from
home design magazines, artwork, area rugs,
or decorative pillows. These samples will
create a starting point for you and will
help with selecting your flooring, cabinetry,
and countertops at the ASTORIA
DESIGN CENTER.
Also remember to bring your checkbook. You
will be asked for a deposit on certain options.
|
|
|
I
have a price list for the Design Center Options
for Cabinets and Countertops. How do I find
out the flooring prices? |
|
| A: |
There
are hundreds of flooring selections in the
ASTORIA
DESIGN CENTER
and several different ways of laying them
in your house. When you narrow them down to
your most favorite ones, your Design Consultant
will help you to find out the bottom line

Why
do I need the upgraded pad? |
|
| A: |
Pad
helps the performance of the carpet. It
adds from 17% to 50% to
carpet’s life. Pad creates softness
underfoot and reduces muscle strain. It’s
easier to maintain carpet with a pad, since
most vacuum cleaners “lift”
the carpet to provide air circulation through
the carpet.
Pad
adds to the overall acoustics of a home
and acts as a sound barrier. Pad has insulation
properties – when combined with other
insulation factors in your home, adds value.

What
is the difference between granite, Corian,
and Hanstone? |
|
| A: |
GRANITE
is the most popular of the natural stones
used for countertop surfaces. Granite is
highly heat, stain, and scratch resistant.
Because of its timeless performance and
beauty, granite is a great way to increase
the value of your home.
CORIAN
is a solid surface made by DuPont. Corian
is solid throughout and can easily be refinished
to its original appearance if nicked, cut,
or scratched. Corian can be formed to create
a seamless surface.
HANSTONE
is a natural quartz surface which has the
same beauty and durability of granite. HanStone
is one of the most durable products on the
market because of the natural quartz. The
lustrous sheen on HanStone offers a higher
level of resistance to scratches. HanStone
is a non-porous surface and does not need
to be sealed or polished.

What
are the advantages of upgrading my home now?
|
|
| A: |
Your
upgrades may be added to your mortgage.
Your mortgage interest rate is usually
lower than other finance options such
as credit
cards, and your mortgage interest is usually
tax deductible.
Products
and installation are covered under manufacturer
and/or builder warranties. If you chose
to upgrade after you move in, you will have
additional cost for removal of the product
you are changing.
Upgrading
your home with the ASTORIA
DESIGN CENTER
will provide you with a peace of mind and
convenience. Your new home will be ready
for you to move in as soon as you get the
keys.
